La Famille

December 29, 2007

I pass by this coat rack/shelf/thing-a-ma-jiggy in our foyer everyday. I often observe the neatness of black iron letters. And, of course, it serves as a reminder of the importance of family. The other day as I passed by it I thought: “Hmmm, life isn’t really that neat and orderly…not often at least.” In fact, if you have kids…and we have a few (understatement)…life rarely feels that in order. So, I decided to put my own artistic touch to it:

That’s a little more like it. (ha). And yes, I put it back in order before the wife caught me.

You Need To Laugh

December 29, 2007

You cannot be mad at somebody who makes you laugh. — Jay Leno
The most wasted of all days is one without laughter. — E. E. Cummings
It’s really wonderful to be here today in the great state of Chicago.
— Former Vice President Dan Quayle
Seriousness is the only refuge of the shallow. — Oscar Wilde

I just spent over an hour watching comedians on youtube. It was a nice break. I’m of the opinion that you need to laugh…every day…and that laughter truly is good medicine.
